This 2.3 mile long rail trail segment is great for hiking, biking, pets on a leash, horseback riding and cross country skiing. This part of the Air Line Trail is level packed stone dust. This is another one of the longer portions of the Air Line Trail through Thompson without a road crossing. Through this section you will pass by horse farms, ponds, small streams and two bridges. One is a small cattle-crossing bridge and the other a steel replacement bridge that crosses a significant gorge and stream. Closest parking for this section is at Sunset Hill Road with room for 3-4 cars along the dead end road.
