Member Program: The Plight of the Bobolinks

7-8:30 pm, July 31, 205 Roseland Park Rd. Woodstock, CT.

Bobolinks arrive in Connecticut after having migrated 5,000 to 6,000 miles from their wintering grounds in South America, traveling further than almost any other songbird. They arrive in our state at the beginning of May in search of open areas such as meadows, fields, or farmland to breed. Eastern Connecticut’s own Joanne Warren, Master Naturalist from the Goodwin State Forest and Conservation Center, will discuss problems facing the grassland bird species, and ways you can help protect them. Join us for a 1-hour showing of the movie, Plight of the Grassland Birds, followed by a discussion. Refreshments will be served afterwards. RSVP Required: bill@tlgv.org or 860-774-3300.
