Mystery Member Meanders in The Last Green Valley! August 2016…explore Killingly, CT!
Stunning views with lots of green are here in The Last Green Valley! There are so many unexpected and hidden treasures in the National Heritage Corridor!
August’s Mystery Member Meander will take place on Friday, August 12th, from 9 – 10 am somewhere in Killingly, CT.
Starting out earlier than usual this month should enhance our meander, as we beat the heat, and then can enjoy the rest of the day, too. This secret location boasts a 2.5 mile woods hike that starts out rather flat, but with a steadily increasing incline, up to stunning views overlooking green and ponds. A spectacular place to dally in The Last Green Valley. Strollers are not appropriate, a walking stick may be helpful, and you must be sure on your feet. Leashed dogs are welcome.
Attend TLGV’s Mystery Member Meanders to activate the modern day, inner explorer and connect with our National Heritage Corridor’s 35 unique towns.
These monthly “show & go” walks/hikes/strolls are intended to simply introduce you to a new place to visit or reintroduce you to an old familiar favorite.
Each month the town of the upcoming Mystery Member Meander location will be divulged, along with a brief description of terrain, difficulty and any other important planning details. With just these few clues, you may be able to deduce the exact location, but then again, you may not! That is the mystery and the fun! TLGV members will get the full details, address and parking information when they RSVP for each month’s event.
To RSVP and obtain the secret location, contact Lead Ranger Marcy at 860-774-3300 or email Marcy@tlgv.org.
On top of TLGV’s new Mystery Member Meanders, TLGV Member Programs and Acorn Adventures will continue, too. These events are all offered monthly and are educational, fun, inspiring and activate your inner explorer! Get out and have fun with us in The Last Green Valley!
