Do Your Part to Keep The Last Green Valley Clean and Green!
Join your family, friends, and neighbors in sprucing up The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor – join a cleanup and make a difference! Funding for these cleanups has been provided in part by TLGV.
Thompson Together is organizing its annual town-wide cleanup during the entire month of April. Fill up a 30-gallon bag of trash and earn an ice cream cone voucher from Bogey’s at Thompson Speedway! Pick up trash bags at Thompson Recreation at the Town Hall, and report your cleanup totals to the Recreation Department to receive your ice cream voucher. For more information, contact Norma O’Leary, Environment Committee Chair at 860-208-7196 or noleary2443@sbcglobal.net.
Camp Nahaco in Eastford and Woodstock is holding its annual cleanup on Saturday, April 16, from 9 am – noon. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. For more information, contact Chris Mayhew, Vice-Chairman, Nahaco Commission at 860-617-1450 or cmayhew52002@yahoo.com.
The Chaplin Conservation Commission is also hosting its annual town-wide cleanup on April 16 from 9 am – noon. Volunteers should choose a public area (road, park cemetery) to clean up and bring collected trash to dumpsters provided at Town Hall or Garrison Park. The Thames Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its first river cleanup on April 16 at 9 am along the Natchaug River in Chaplin.
