The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation announced that a grant of $1,873 was awarded to The Last Green Valley on May 9 in honor of Jewett City Savings Bank’s 150th anniversary.

The Last Green Valley (TLGV) is designated to protect and care for the 35-town National Heritage
Corridor in eastern Connecticut and south-central Massachusetts. During the Bank’s Dayville
branch celebration, which is part of the Bank’s 150th anniversary celebrations this year, the donation
was presented to TLGV. “We are honored and grateful to receive such a meaningful donation from
Jewett City Savings Bank. Thank you for supporting The Last Green Valley’s work to promote and
protect our National Heritage Corridor’s natural, historic, and cultural resources,” said Lois
Bruinooge, TLGV Executive Director.

“The Last Green Valley is an amazing non-profit organization that dedicates its time to maintain
what Congress recognizes as a unique national resource,” said Michael Alberts, Jewett City Savings
Bank President and CEO. “We are honored to support an organization that is dedicated to ensuring
that everyone can enjoy The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor and that we will be able
to pass it on to future generations.”
