TRBP Floating Workshop 6/18

The 21st annual Floating Workshop hosted by the Thames River Basin Partnership will be June 18, 2021, with a June 25 rain date. The focus on this year’s event will be on Coastal Embayments of Southeastern Connecticut.

Please plan to join the TRBP for an informative paddle on the Poquonuck River, with stops at Bushy Point Beach and Baker Cove as we learn about water quality issues and what is being done to address them. Learn about the significance of eel grass, quahogs, oysters and more. Hands-on activities will be included.

This will be a “Bring Your Own Boat” event. We also decided early in the planning stages that we would forgo an indoor session with lunch, so please eat before you arrive. This will be a 3 mile paddle in calm tidal waters (unless it is windy). Non-boat people may hike to Bushy Point Beach.

Please register and send your payment by June 15. You can access the registration form  on the TRBP website here.

The Floating Workshop and TRBP are funded in part by The Last Green Valley.
