April Member Program

April Member Program

TLGV Members are invited to join us for Charlton Day on Saturday, April 25th for a variety of activities.  Join Chief Ranger Bill Reid and Lead Ranger Marcy Dawley as we travel to Charlton, MA, for the town’s Earth Day activities. It’s a fun-filled day and we’ll be participating in the town wide cleanup, EarthFest Celebration on the Common, and the Great Egg Hunt at Capen Hill Nature Center.

This year, TLGV has provided support for the Town of Charlton’s cleanup and we invite TLGV members to pitch-in and help one of our National Heritage Corridor towns. The cleanup starts at 8:00 am from the Senior Center (located below the Charlton Town Hall). Gloves and trash bags will be provided.

The Charlton EarthFest Celebration, Art Show and Pet Show begins at 11 am on the town Common and goes till 2 pm. The Last Green Valley will be one of the exhibitors and we’ll be joined by several others including The Turtle Rescue League, Next Step Living, Charlton Garden Club, North East Organic Farming Association, Fay Mountain Farm, Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary, Charlton Conservation Commission and many more. Additional info about the cleanup, EarthFest Celebration and other town-wide activities can be found at www.townofcharlton.net/earthdaycom.htm.

Also during the day, TLGV Rangers will be attending the Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary Annual Great Egg Hunt. The event is from 10 am till 4 pm and TLGV Rangers will be on hand with our information booth. Thousands of eggs will be hidden along the trails and property at the nature center and you’re invited to bring the children or grandchildren for what has become a wonderful tradition in Charlton. It costs only $10 per car, and what a wonderful opportunity to get out in the warm sunshine of a spring day exploring Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary. More information on Capen Hill and the Great Egg Hunt can be found at www.capenhill.org.

You don’t have to RSVP but do stop by to see Bill and Marcy at the TLGV Information booth at the EarthFest and at Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary.

Email Bill or call 860-774-3300 for more information.
