Air Line State Park Trail (3-Sand Dam Rd. to Lowell Davis Rd.)

This 2.3 mile long rail trail segment is great for hiking, biking, pets on a leash, horseback riding and cross country skiing. This part of the Air Line Trail is level mix of trap rock and packed gravel. It is one of the longer sections of the Air Line Trail in Thompson without crossing a road. This stretch of trail will take you through large swamps, past many small ponds and streams. You will also pass over a small cattle-crossing bridge and under two major roads.  Parking for this section is at each end with room for off-road parking for 3-4 cars.

The Last Green Valley has assessed this trail for people with mobility challenges and has created a summary you can access here Sand Dam Rd to Lowell Davis Rd.
