Detailed descriptions of pre-meeting activities.
Letterboxing: Explore the trails of Camp Laurel and follow clues to find the treasure – hidden letterboxes with uniquely designed hand-carved stamps that you can add to your personal logbook. Don’t have your own letterboxing kit? We’ll provide one! This activity is perfect preparation for the new TLGV Letterboxing Trail with eight locations across the Corridor and more to come.
Walking Tour of Camp Laurel: Take a guided tour of scenic Camp Laurel to see for yourself what keeps scouts coming back year after year. An easy stroll around parts of this 300+ acre property will show you the important role camp plays in fulfilling the Girl Scout mission to build “girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.”
Citizen Science at the EnviroLab: Visit Camp Laurel’s Outdoor EnviroLab and learn how anyone at any age can become a citizen scientist, applying STEM skills to advance environmental conservation. Citizen science isn’t just for scouts and you can also learn about The Last Green Valley’s citizen science programs.
Archery: Ready to hit some bullseyes? Shake off the rust from when you were a camper and have some fun with a bow and arrows. All equipment will be provided.
