Pre-Meeting Activities
We are excited to offer three optional pre-meeting activities hosted by our partners. Please park at the locations listed under each option. Each activity will provide a few minutes before the social hour begins so you can move your car from the designated activity parking area to Lot 9 (aka Lot N) in time for the social hour, dinner and meeting. There are additional notes and a map on the back of this sheet.  If you have any questions about parking or logistics, contact Kyle Gregoire at 860-774-3300 or kyle@tlgv.org

Option 1 – Enjoy a guided tour inside the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry.
The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of more than 2,500 puppets from all over the world plus an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials and photographs all covering the history of puppetry.

Tour Time: 4 – 5 pm
Museum Phone: 860-486-8580
Physical Location of Museum: Suite 101B, 1 Royce Circle, Storrs, CT (3-minute walk to museum from parking)
Parking Location (2 hrs. free): Downtown Storrs Garage, 33 Royce Circle, Storrs, CT

Option 2 – Take a campus Art Walk led by staff from the William Benton Museum of Art.
Around almost every corner, there’s a surprise. Works of art are found across UConn’s Storrs campus, but what do they represent? And who made them? You can find out by joining a docent-led art walk. The walk starts in front of the museum and ends by the North Parking Garage. In case of inclement weather, a tour inside the museum will be offered instead. Drawing largely from its collection of more than 6,500 works of art, the museum presents exhibitions of art dating from the 15th through the 21st centuries.

Tour Time: 4 – 5 pm
Museum Phone: 860-486-4520
Physical Location of Museum: 245 Glenbrook Road, Storrs, CT (6-minute walk to museum from parking)
Parking Location ($2 fee): North Garage, 2152 Hillside Rd., Storrs, CT

Option 3 – Walk the iconic Horsebarn Hill with staff from the UConn College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources.
Regularly featured as a Walktober event, this activity is adapted for our special member tour. Join us for a walk around UConn’s Horsebarn Hill to enjoy views of campus, visit the animal barns and learn what’s going on at UConn CAHNR. Note this is an easy walk but does include an uphill stretch on rough pavement. The walk starts and ends at the UConn Dairy Bar. Inclement weather cancels – feel free to check out the other options if that is the case.

Tour Time: 3:30 – 5 pm
UConn CAHNR Phone: 860-486-1076
Meeting and Parking Location: UConn Dairy Bar, 3636 Horsebarn Hill Road Extension, Storrs Mansfield, CT

Alumni Center Parking Information
The Social Hour, Dinner and Annual Membership Meeting will start at 5 pm at the UConn Alumni Center, 2384 Alumni Drive, Storrs, CT.
There is a small parking lot at the Alumni Center that can be used for drop-offs or parking for members with mobility concerns.
We request everyone else park in Lot 9 (aka Lot N), located at 2152 Hillside Rd., Storrs, CT.  This is the large open-air parking lot seen when turning onto Hillside Road from North Eagleville Road. For context the Lodewick Visitors Center is on one side of this lot, a large painted rock is at the opposite side of this lot and the North Parking Garage is located across the street.

The guest entrances to the Alumni Center are located either in the back of the building (facing the field) or on the side of the building (facing the center’s parking lot). There is no entrance from the front facing Alumni Drive.

We will have either a sign, a staff member or a TLGV Ranger present to help members navigate their way to the Annual Meeting from the designated parking area. The Alumni Center (ALUM) and Lot 9 (aka Lot N) are both circled in red. Circled in purple are the three optional pre-meeting activity locations.
