TLGV Ranger Marcy’s August Acorn Adventures – Explore 3 more times this month!
Summer continues, and it is a great time to explore your 35 town National Heritage Corridor. Ranger Marcy’s Acorn Adventures head to 3 of our towns this month alone.
Join us at all 3 places, with very different topics!
- Friday, August 12, 2016 from 2:30 – 4 pm at the Pearle L. Crawford Library, 40 Schofield Ave. (Route 12), Dudley, MA.
Miss Kathy will join us on the library lawn to relax and look at things in nature from A to Z! We’ll have special Nature’s Alphabet coloring books for all.
- Friday, August 12, 2016 from 7 – 8:30 pm at the Heins Farm Conservation Area, Leadmine Rd., Sturbridge, MA.
Lay back on your blanket or lawn chair as the skies darken in a big open field to see the meteors start to fly during Perseids Meteor Showers. Look for fireflies, and other stars & constellations, too!
- Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 10 – 11:30 am meet at the parking lot at 55 Bridge St., Willimantic. (near Route 66 intersection.)
Mrs. Z from the Willimantic Public Library will join us for Roaming the Rails, Trails & River of Willimantic. Do you know why you find rivers & railroad tracks close to each other? Enjoy the classic book, “The Little Red Caboose” and then a special tour of the CT Eastern Railroad Museum.
Snacks, Acorn stickers & fresh air FUN always included!
Dress for the weather (hats, walking shoes), and bring your family, friends, & bug spray!
FREE! All ages welcome.
Explore, visit, engage & connect with the things that make our National Heritage Corridor special, like our trails, rails, libraries, rivers and dark skies!
