Acorn Adventure for Families: Something to Bark About

 2/11/2024 @ 2:00 pm

Join TLGV Rangers Christie Hazen and Geoff McLean to learn how trees survive in winter. We’ll share “tree cookies” and count the rings to learn about the life cycle of trees and make rubbings of tree bark, then we’ll also venture into the woods to learn to identify trees by looking at their bark. We’ll also learn how sugar maple trees produce maple sap which is turned into maple syrup. This will include the anatomy of the tree, what the various parts do, and how a tree converts carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and delicious syrup. To learn more email Bill@tlgv.org.
