Quasset School Open House

Visit a one-room school house still in use today! Quasset School traces its history back o the 1690s when Woodstock first began education its children. The current Quasset School building was built in 1858 and originally sited on Wabaquasset Hill in the same location as an earlier schoolhouse built in 1748. In 1954, the school was moved to the grounds of the Woodstock Elementary School on Frog Pond Road to serve as a museum dedicated to the “beginning of American education.” Woodstock children still receive a week of education in the school house!
