Absent from History: Norwich’s Black Revolutionary War Soldiers and Sailors

During the American Revolution, many brave souls from Norwich answered the call to arms, including free and enslaved men of color. Who were these Black patriots, absent from our history? On Sunday, September 27, at 1 p.m., the Norwich Historical Society will host a program that tells their stories, presented by Sandra Soucy. Join us at the Lathrop Schoolhouse on the Norwichtown Green. This will be followed by a guided tour through areas of Norwichtown where some of these men lived, worked, and may be buried. Be advised that we will be walking along uneven and hilly terrain as well as busy streets, so proper footwear and clothing is recommended.
